J.P. Burgess, Wellington Quay

If you look up to the first floor of 9 Wellington Quay, you will see three horizontal stripes of paint. These paint stripes disguise an old ghost sign for J.P. Burgess – Wholesale and Retail Confectioner, Tobacconist & Devotional Goods.

Using photographs, Thoms Directory and some fellow sleuths on Twitter, I was able to discover not only what the ghost sign advertised, but also an idea how old it is / was.
